OUR MISSION

"To bring awareness of the importance of the hunter to the Northwoods in our roles as conservationists, educators and humanitarians.”

BRINGING THE MISSION OF SAFARI CLUB INTERNATIONAL HOME TO THE NORTHWOODS

The Northwoods Chapter of Safari Club International (SCI) is a local community of men and women who share a passion for hunting, wildlife, conservation, and the outdoors. Our members live throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin and are united by a common belief: responsible hunters play an important role in protecting wildlife, preserving our outdoor traditions, and strengthening the communities we call home.

As a local chapter of Safari Club International, we bring the organization's broader mission to our own corner of the country. While SCI works on a national and international level to protect hunting and hunter privileges, the Northwoods Chapter focuses on making a difference right here in the Northwoods.

PROTECTING OUR HUNTING HERITAGE

Hunting is more than a season on the calendar. For many families, it is a tradition passed from one generation to the next — a way to spend time outdoors, connect with family and friends, and develop a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the land.

We believe that protecting the future of hunting means being actively involved today. Our chapter supports efforts to protect hunting privileges, encourage responsible participation in hunting and shooting sports, and defend the rights that allow future generations to enjoy these traditions.

Meet Our Board of Directors

The Northwoods Chapter is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors who help lead the chapter's activities and support its mission throughout our region.

CONSERVATION AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT

Hunters have long played an important role in wildlife conservation, and we believe that responsible stewardship is essential to maintaining healthy wildlife populations and thriving outdoor spaces.

The Northwoods Chapter promotes sound wildlife management and supports conservation education and research. We work to increase awareness of the important relationship between hunters, wildlife, habitat, and conservation — helping ensure that the Northwoods remains a place where wildlife and outdoor traditions can continue to flourish.

EDUCATION & OPPORTUNITY

One of the most important ways we can protect the future of hunting is by introducing others to the outdoors.

The Northwoods Chapter supports opportunities for young people and others who may not otherwise have the chance to experience hunting and shooting sports. By sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and encouraging responsible participation, we hope to help the next generation develop an appreciation for wildlife, conservation, and the outdoor traditions of the Northwoods.

GET INVOLVED
